Common freezer problems we repair
Freezer not freezing
Possible causes include a failed start relay, evaporator fan, or thermostat — often repairable without replacing the unit.
Heavy frost buildup
Often associated with a defrost system issue or a door gasket that is no longer sealing well — something humid climates can aggravate.
Running constantly
Dirty condenser coils, a worn gasket, or a failing temperature control can make the compressor run nonstop and shorten its life.
Warm spots or soft ice cream
Often an airflow problem — a weak evaporator fan or frost blocking the air vents are typical suspects.
Garage freezer struggling in summer
Many freezers are not rated for extreme ambient heat. A technician can determine whether yours is failing or simply operating outside its rated temperature range.
Garage-kept freezers are common in Brevard and Seminole homes, and unconditioned garages get hot. We'll give you an honest answer about whether the problem is the freezer itself or the environment it's working in — and what your options are either way.
